Leaf Wireless, exclusive distributor for Africa of the i-mate range of Windows Mobile-based PocketPCs and Smartphones, has announced the local release and availability of the i-mate SP5.

The latest member of the popular i-mate Smartphone family of products, the SP5 is a stylish product designed for the more serious mobile user. Packed with a variety of communication features and bundled with all of the functionality of Microsoft`s Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone edition, the SP5 is the perfect companion to complement a dynamic `work and lifestyle` - live large, travel light.

The SP5 boasts a 2.2-inch LCD and is jam-packed with communications and applications making for an outstanding phone and PDA combination - all in a compact, slip-in-your-pocket form factor.

"With the SP5`s advanced software and communications capabilities, staying in touch and staying up to date has never been easier," says Quinton Leigh, Managing Director of Leaf Wireless.

The SP5 is a quad-band go-anywhere phone that doubles as a modem over USB, infrared or Bluetooth, and it now supports EDGE as well as GPRS, and now also has WiFi capabilities for connecting to your wireless network at home or in the office.

The built-in camera gives you 1.3-megapixels at resolutions up to 1 280x1 024 for high-quality stills and video clips with a Night Mode for low light conditions. Other applications such as Windows Media Player will play back video and music all in high-quality stereo.

In spite of all the functionality, battery life is even longer with up to five hours talk time and 250 hours standby.
