IBM SA has announced that JSE-listed Faritec has achieved IBM Premier Software Partner status. Faritec, the outsourcing and e-commerce infrastructure company, is only the fourth company in South Africa to achieve this status, the highest in the IBM Partner Programme.
Ilse Cilliers, GM software at IBM SA, says IBM`s prerequisites for Premier Software Partner status are stringent in order to protect the brand and maintain high standards. Qualification includes an annual revenue achievement and a workforce of at least three IBM certified professionals. This status is maintained through a yearly re-qualification process.
"Faritec has demonstrated the commitment to provide skilled sales, support and consulting to its customers," says Cilliers. "We have enjoyed a long association with Faritec. With its solid background in sales and support, Faritec is ideally positioned to provide its customers with a complete infrastructure service in the demanding e-business arena."
Faritec`s long-term relationship with IBM has established its reputation as an IBM midrange hardware and software supplier. Richard Greenhill, partner development manager at Faritec, says: "This supports our strategy of dominating the mid-market providing ASP, e-business and outsourcing infrastructure and support.
"In addition, our long-standing leadership in the RS/6000/AIX domain allows us to offer mid-market clients a complete solution. There is an increasing urgency for businesses to become e-business-enabled. Our product offerings can go a long way towards assisting in leapfrogging the learning curve and becoming profitably Web-enabled quickly."
