IBM, BNL team up

IBM and BNP Paribas, the largest French company and the fifth largest in the industry worldwide, today announced a 318 million euro, six-year agreement for their existing joint venture, BP2I, to support and the overall IT infrastructure operations of BNP Paribas' subsidiary office, Banca Nazionale del Lavoro (BNL) in Italy, reports 7th Space.

By extending BP2I to Italy, BP2I will be able to provide flexible solutions across both its French and Italian operations.

BP2I will provide significant cost savings to the BNP Paribas Group by transforming BNL's IT infrastructure and aligning it with BNP Paribas' current infrastructure and standard processes.

BPC implements SmartVista

BPC, a recognised provider of e-payment and banking solutions, implemented its SmartVista processing software in CardStandard, one of the largest Russian processing centres, part of CFT Group, says Finextra.

The implemented solution was successfully certified to the PCI DSS requirements, proving its full compliance with the leading security standard in the payment card industry.

CardStandard is one of the core businesses of CFT Group.

Sybase acquires Paybox Solution

Enterprise software and services company Sybase - parent of mobile messaging solutions provider Sybase 365, has acquired mobile payment solutions developer Paybox Solution, writes Fierce Mobile Content.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

According to Sybase, integration of Paybox's solutions will enable Sybase 365 to offer mobile operators, financial institutions and merchants a full suite of m-payment solutions, offering customers the tools to conduct person-to-person remittances, pay for goods and services, replenish their mobile airtime and pay bills via mobile devices.
