IBM develops enterprise solution
IBM and Mitas have signed an agreement under which IBM will create an enterprise integration platform based on service-oriented architecture (SOA) for Mitas, reports Market Watch.
The platform will enable integration of the SAP ERP 6.0 system and other enterprise applications, and will aim to streamline application alignment and management.
This agreement follows a successful co-operation between IBM and Mitas earlier this year when IBM and its subcontractor, Inter-Informatics, implemented an electronic information application called the Tire Information System for Mitas.
Ensemble integrates Spectrum apps
Spectrum Health has selected InterSystems' Ensemble software for integration initiatives across its entire enterprise, says Market Watch.
Kim Gordon, integration solutions manager at Spectrum Health, says: "We want to do a lot more than the HL7 messaging and Web services that we've implemented so far. Plans are to move to more of an SOA approach and to create a federated software environment that enables each of our analysts and business partners to create individually tailored business rules.”
The Spectrum Health team is working on an aggressive schedule that calls for migrating all of Spectrum Health's application and data repository interfaces to Ensemble by the second quarter of 2009.
