IBM introduces entry-level CMS software

IBM has introduced two entry-level versions of its enterprise search and content integration software designed for departmental projects and mid-sized businesses. They provide a lower cost of entry for organisations to begin taking advantage of IBM enterprise search and content integration capabilities, writes the Gilbane Report.

The IBM WebSphere Information Integrator OmniFind Starter Edition and WebSphere Information Integrator Content Starter Edition are available from IBM business channels.

They analyse and index information stored throughout an organisation, and allow users to search intranet portals, databases, public Web sites and file systems to obtain relevant results, adds the article.

Objective gets CMS nod in Australia

The New South Wales (NSW) department of natural resources in Australia will start deploying an enterprise-wide content management system (CMS) in the new few weeks.

Content management vendor Objective has been awarded the contract, though the value of the deal is not known.

ZDNet reports that Australian Stock Exchange statements indicate the deployment will affect other stakeholders such as Catchment Management Authorities and the NSW planning department.

Tira 'Jumps` into mobile CMS field

Tira Wireless is expanding its porting services and stepping onto the crowded playing field of mobile content management, according to RCR News.

The company will soon unveil the latest version of is flagship product Jump, a software offering designed to port, or customise applications across the spectrum of handsets and carriers in dozens of languages.

The latest version of Jump extends support beyond applications to content including ringtones and wallpapers, and is designed to help the content owner meet carriers` pre-deployment demands such as submitting screen shots and marketing descriptions, explains the article.
