IBM opens Singapore cloud lab
IBM has opened a cloud computing laboratory in Singapore, says Computer Business Review.
The lab, housed at Changi Business Park, is designed to help businesses, government and research institutions adopt cloud technologies.
This is the 11th cloud computing lab from IBM, and will become part of labs in Hong Kong, Ireland, Vietnam, China, SA, Japan, Brazil, India, Korea and the US.
Cloud.com releases CloudStack
Cloud.com has released CloudStack, the company's cloud computing infrastructure management software, says Server Watch.
The solution has been released in two commercial editions and one open source edition, with the open source versions being functionally the same as the commercial counterpart.
"The CloudStack Community Edition cannot be used for anything involving monetisation because the billing system and other components necessary to make money with it come from third parties," says Peder Ulander, CMO at Cloud.com.
Ebix unveils cloud for insurance
Ebix has unveiled the Ebix Cloud family of products and services for the insurance market, says Market Watch.
The cloud solution will allow insurance companies to outsource data centre and application hosting across multiple platforms to a single managed service provider.
Ebix solutions and software will be delivered as a utility or on a pay-per-use model. The offerings are built on top of the current Ebix product portfolio.
