
IBM unveils SME collaboration tool
IBM has introduced a self-managing appliance for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that combines unified communications and collaboration tools, states Dark Reading.
The Lotus Foundations Reach solution is designed for SMEs that have limited IT skills and smaller budgets.
The solution combines features such as instant messaging, presence awareness, e-mail, calendars, contacts, office productivity tools, network security, remote access, file and print sharing and backup and disaster recovery.
Samsung releases mobile WiMax
Samsung Mobile has revealed it will be rolling out Samsung Mondi, a WiMax-enabled handheld device, says Business Wire.
The Samsung Mondi can harness upload and download speeds that double comparable devices running on 3G networks while taking advantage of mobile WiMax.
The device has multimedia features that offer instant access to e-mail, Internet, video content such as Windows Live Messenger and business applications.
LG Dacom, myLGtv boost health services
LG Dacom has partnered with the Health Insurance Review Assessment Service in Korea, to roll out myLGtv service, reports Korea IT Times.
The programme is designed to provide an advanced medical service in which information on patients can be delivered via a convergent IPTV network.
The service will enable its users to see the results of medical prescriptions and diagnoses prepared by doctors.
