IBM`s SOA line-up focuses on BPM
New York Stock Exchange-listed IBM has introduced a new line-up of software and services for building and expanding a service-oriented architecture (SOA), reports Market Wire.
The new software and services focus on four key areas: the use of business process management (BPM) to exploit benefits from SOA; governance as the cornerstone of SOA success; preparing IT infrastructures for SOA; and creating industry-specialised SOA services.
In total, IBM is announcing four new and 23 enhanced products and 11 new professional services offerings.
BPM to aid rapid growth
The UK division of the Ultimate Renaissance Group, which specialises in power supplies and components, is expecting rapid growth and wishes to implement an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution to enable it to achieve its growth plans, reports PR.com.
Solutions provider Codestone proposes to implement business management software, SAP Business One. Ultimate Renaissance will be using the fully integrated solution for customer relationship management (CRM), stock control, quick enquiry and ordering system and full traceability during and after the production process.
Fujitsu BPM lauded
Fujitsu is among a handful of companies selected by Forrester to participate in its Q3 2006, Forrester Wave report, Human-Centric Business Process Management Systems (BPMS) for Insurance, according to a press release.
In the evaluation, Fujitsu was cited as a "strong performer". Citing an "unsurpassed commitment to BPMS standards" by Fujitsu, the report notes that "Fujitsu continues to deliver a solid process engine at an attractive price."
Forrester evaluated Fujitsu Interstage Business Process Manager and the company`s strategy for human-centric BPMS for insurance against 215 criteria.
