iBurst has opened a showroom in Sandton as part of its move to establish a presence.

Targeting existing and potential iBurst broadband subscribers, iBurst aims to forge closer relationships and address queries on the spot, the company says.

iBurst marketing manager Callia Doucas notes the company has not had a strong in-store retail presence historically.

"By opening more showrooms in other cities and expanding our network, we believe this to be a step in the right direction towards achieving the desired result," she says.

"Internet and telephone-based customer care offers speedy resolution of most queries, but nothing beats being able to see the person you are talking to."

New iBurst subscribers will also be able to test and purchase iBurst products at the showroom. Technical experts are available to assist subscribers.

iBurst recently struck a deal with MWeb, where the latter will offer iBurst's wireless broadband service to its client base. The non-exclusive agreement added MWeb to iBurst's 300-strong reseller list, which includes Internet Solutions, Autopage and Nashua Mobile.

iBurst has 25 000 subscribers nationwide, it says.
