IceWeb unveils enterprise architecture

IceWeb, through its wholly owned subsidiary InLine, will introduce its Iplicity 2.0 enterprise platform (IEP), designed to differentiate IceWeb from other platforms in the unified storage architecture marketplace, at the upcoming ESRI International User Conference in San Diego, says Computer Business Review.

The company will also be featuring its newly designed InLine MLP (mobile lightweight portable) III product with 32TB of 'on-the-fly' storage.

According to the company, InLine products provide transparency, allowing the client to focus on their requirements of performing geospatial analysis, managing spatial information, and providing for the dissemination of relevant information via maps and Web or intranet.

Accenture enhances platform

Accenture has enhanced its core banking platform, Alnova Financial Solutions, which it says can now be implemented faster and more cost-effectively, reports ebizQ.

The new platform can also be upgraded more easily through the broader use of standard software components.

The new version can help banks better support their changing product and pricing requirements and can be more readily integrated with legacy systems using service-oriented architecture (SOA) and third-party business process management tools.

Siemens wins network contract

Barts and the London NHS Trust has awarded a four-year, multi million-pound framework contract to Siemens Enterprise Communications to implement a fixed and LAN and infrastructure, reports e-Health Insider.

The work will provide the trust with a single network that is able to handle traffic from multiple wireless devices and PCs, optical images and video streaming for 300 beds at the new Barts hospital.

Doug Howe, deputy director of ICT at Barts and the London NHS Trust, says, “Siemens will provide a secure and flexible LAN communications infrastructure with the required secure 24/7 information access and 'five nines' system reliability.”
