ICL`s EJECT Internet service has launched two new products - an anti-virus service and content security, which are inexpensive and provide enhanced security to Internet users.
"All EJECT users already have e-mail-only anti-virus scanning with their dial-up accounts. Now with the launch of eScan, subscribers can protect themselves from all other sources of infection, such as Web sites, networks, stiffy disks and hackers," explained EJECT offering manager Bill Keenan.
"It is currently available to EJECT subscribers on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis - which is unique in the anti-virus market. Normally users pay upfront for a year. There is also a 15-day free trial period," he explained.
"eScan Virus Control scans all incoming data for viruses and objectionable content. It performs real-time PC and e-mail virus scanning, real-time content scanning for all kinds of e-mail traffic, protects users from spam, gives fast/automatic daily Internet updates (usually far less than 1MB in size) and includes a NetBios Firewall," he said.
Users can download the software straight from EJECT`s server, or contact EJECT`s call centre to request a CD.
Corporate and enterprise versions are available to larger customers, subject to quotation and dependent on number of users. Support is available from the EJECT call centre.
