The ICL Internet service provider, at www.eject.co.za, has launched a new range of fun e-mail domain names taken from Zulu, Afrikaans and Swahili languages.
Subscribers can now create and use various e-mail addresses such as john@wena.co.za, in Zulu meaning `You`, or john@boma.co.za, which in Swahili means `bushes fencing the Maasai household to protect people and their cattle from wild animals`. Boma is also a well-known South African term for a meeting or entertaining place.
EJECT`s Bill Keenan, manager of the VISP division, said the new range of domain names add flexibility and fun to the ISP service.
"Other domain names include beepbeep.co.za aimed at the younger generation, gr8.co.za, as in SMS code for 'great`, plus ourhome.co.za for e-mail addresses with a homely character," he said.
"While the main EJECT identity remains, this allows users to create and use alternatives to @eject.co.za," noted Keenan.
"Vir ons Afrikaanse kliente, daar is nou twee domeinname wat beskikbaar is vir seleksie - oppienet.co.za en onstuiste.co.za," he added.
"Through EJECT, users can send e-mails, browse the Internet, create a Web site and access news groups at cost-effective rates," he added.
Complementary services include e-mail anti-virus scanning as standard, call centre support, ISDN for super-fast connections, business directory listings, web development tools, personalised domain names and various payment options. EJECT Internet service provider also offers mass e-mailing and SMS services, leased-lines and server hosting.
ICL also offers branded Internet access services to companies wanting to offer personalised branding to their clients.
