ICL has launched a System Administration Service to assist organisations in improving overall performance capacity in the Unix server environment.
"Unix administrators will have the backup of telephonic advice from ICL`s Unix experts as well as on-site software assistance from ICL Unix engineers," explained ICL Sun Business Unit manager Daryl Blundell.
ICL will offer three main categories of service level agreements (SLAs), namely Silver, Gold and Platinum. SLAs can also be tailor-made to suit specific requirements.
ICL will provide telephonic advice and guidance on system administration tasks, remote dial-in problem analysis, error correction, circumventions to known errors, on-site system archiving and on-site consultancy.
Blundell said a remote system administration service will be provided on a weekly basis to ensure system efficiency and to pre-empt possible errors. Consultancy will be provided with regard to the building and configuration of systems, as well as developing and testing configurations for optimally tuning Unix.
Customers will also receive a monthly report detailing recommendations for work to be carried out to ensure optimal Unix performance.
