Global IT market intelligence company International Corporation (IDC) will officially open its local office on 26 February. Located in Woodmead, Sandton, it establishes IDC`s direct presence in the local and regional market.

Previously indirectly in SA, through its partnership with BMI-TechKnowledge, IDC joins other international intelligence houses to have a South African base - Gartner, Forrester and Frost & Sullivan.

Butler Group and Data Monitor are represented locally by Marketworks.

The launch event is to be attended by regional IDC VP for Middle East and Africa Jyoti Lalchandani, SA country manager Nikki Quinn, as well as four South African-based analysts, and local media.

Besides presenting IDC`s products and services, the event will highlight SA`s position as the leading IT market in Africa. It will also offer an overview of the current situation and trends, as well as predictions for the next few years, the company said in a statement.
