After a four-year tenure, Hannes Fourie, senior research analyst, systems and infrastructure, at the International Data Corporation (IDC), will leave the company, effective year-end. While at the organisation, Fourie co-ordinated the flow of quantitative and qualitative data, with a focus on desktops, notebooks and servers.
He was previously an analyst at BMI TechKnowledge, where he concentrated on the PC market.
“Next year, I will be studying full-time,” Fourie said, when asked about his future plans.
“I don't know what the future holds; however, I have enjoyed working in the ICT industry for the past six years.
“One of the perks of working for a global company is the travelling; I also enjoyed working with interesting people and experiencing different cultures,” Fourie said.
Ronaldo De Santana has been appointed as an analyst and will take on some of Fourie's duties in the systems and infrastructure research programme.
The IDC has also appointed Andries Lombaard as country manager for SA.
The IDC is a global provider of market intelligence, advisory services and events that cater for the ICT industry.
