IDION Consulting lands Microsoft Recommended Support Point endorsement

IDION Consulting has been appointed as the first Microsoft Recommended Support Point (RSP) for Application Development in South Africa. As a developer RSP, IDION Consulting will develop applications for specific business needs in the Western Cape and Gauteng regions.

RSPs are Microsoft Certified Solution Providers (MCSPs) that are specially selected for their ability to provide a wide range of high quality support services for organisations using Microsoft products in distributed environments.

The minimum qualification for an RSP is two Microsoft Certified Support Personnel, one of whom must be available on the phone during the RSP`s normal business hours. IDION Consulting has one of the highest concentrations of specialist Microsoft skills and qualified personnel in Africa available for support during normal business hours. These Certified Support personnel must pass the Microsoft Certified Professional exams in the product range the RSP is recommended to support. In addition, the RSP must also have a call logging and tracking facility, commit to minimum response times, support only registered users, charge for the support they provide, and take a priority support contract with Microsoft. The Microsoft RSP programme is designed to appeal to channel partners who are specifically targeting support as a separate line of business.

"We identified a need in the market for this kind of dedicated developer support which IDION can provide".

IDION Consulting is the first company to meet the required standards to become a Developer RSP, for the Western Cape and Gauteng regions. The company offers systems development support on the complete range of Microsoft products, as well as Microsoft SQL 7.0 back-end packages.

"The fact that IDION Consulting is also a Microsoft Beta test site and is currently in the process of Beta testing Microsoft Exchange 6.0 (Platinum), contributes to our early exposure to new technology.
