IDION subsidiary, Vision Solutions, a leading managed availability solutions provider, introduced ORION, the first multi-platform managed availability solution, at IBM PartnerWorld, 16 to 19 February 2003 in New Orleans. This move is geared towards recruiting and training partners in preparation for the worldwide product launch of ORION in mid-2003.
The announcement demonstrates Vision Solution`s commitment to the concept of a total solutions roll-out consisting of proven technology, professional services, support and certified partners with the skills to successfully implement solutions that customers need. ORION will expand on the traditional iSeries channel as it extends into multi-platform support and will extend opportunities for the channel to sell into a broader base.
"A trained and ready partner channel is crucial to the measured approach we are taking with the ORION launch," said Nicolaas Vlok, chief executive officer. "We are committed to supplying partners with the training and certification necessary to begin taking advantage of the new opportunities that ORION provides, not only with the iSeries market, but in the Windows and Linux markets as well."
ORION is the first multi-platform-based software solution that enables users to predictably manage the functional availability of servers, data and applications across an enterprise, regardless of platform, supporting OS/400, Windows and Linux. Its functions include data integration across disparate databases as well as managed application and server availability within both homogeneous and heterogeneous environments including multi-system coordinated fail-over and recovery.
