IDS Scheer releases new ARIS product versions and starts publishing information on the Internet about BPM and the current release

ARIS Business Performance Edition helps companies to continuously improve their business performance
Saarbr"ucken, 17 Jun 2008

IDS Scheer today announced the release of new and enhanced products as part of Version 7.1 within ARIS Business Performance Edition.

To mark the release of the German version, IDS Scheer, the leading international solution provider for business process management (BPM), is offering its customers a whole host of new information resources on the topics of BPM and the new ARIS products.

There is an ARIS blog on the Internet, along with various multimedia demos of the new features. IDS Scheer is using these Internet tools to inform users and potential users about how ARIS Business Performance Edition products can help them to continuously boost the performance of their companies.

ARIS Business Performance Edition by IDS Scheer incorporates all of the new and enhanced ARIS products released this year. The current release includes various Version 7.1 products, such as ARIS Business Architect, ARIS Six Sigma and ARIS Business Publisher, as well as ARIS IT Architect and ARIS Business Architect for SAP. ARIS Business Rules Designer, ARIS SOA Architect and ARIS Business Simulator are also included in the new version. Modelling language BPMN and the OASIS SOA reference model supplement the method scope.

IDS Scheer has set up a Web site designed specifically for users of the new ARIS Business Performance Edition. Users who visit www.aris.com/performance will be treated to information about all the innovations as well as interactive demos of the new functions. In addition, customers and potential customers can sign up for a series of free ARIS Webcasts by visiting the homepage (www.aris.com/webcasts).

Each week, these Webcasts will address interesting process management topics and products. An ARIS BPM blog (www.arisblog.com) is also available, containing specialist articles on current issues written by various IDS Scheer BPM experts as well as customers, research bodies and opinion leaders. The blog discusses topics such as process management, process intelligence, enterprise architecture management, SAP implementation, SOA and GRC - all of which are focal points for process managers and specialist departments within the companies. The Web site also includes interviews and videos for those who are interested.

From a technical perspective, the new product versions represent the continuation of a strategy initiated by IDS Scheer several years ago - a Java-based development platform for Web-based products.

In order to ease the transition to the new technology for ARIS users who are still using older, Windows-based products, IDS Scheer offers the ARIS Exchange Programme. This programme allows customers to exchange their older, Windows-based ARIS products for the new versions at special prices (www.aris.com/exchange).

The ARIS Business Performance Edition innovations and products will also be the focus of this year's ARIS UserDay, which will be held in Berlin, Germany on 16 June. ARIS UserDay is an international specialist conference for the ARIS Community. The event includes presentations by experts from IDS Scheer and by customers, as well as hands-on sessions on the new functionalities. The ARIS BPM blog will cover ARIS UserDay, providing news and reports.

Dr Wolfram Jost, Member of the Executive Board with responsibility for Product Strategy and Development of IDS Scheer, is confident in the quality of the innovations: "The current release of ARIS Business Performance Edition marks an important milestone for our customers in their use of our ARIS products to improve their business results. In these difficult economic times, it is vital that managers make future-proof decisions in order to ensure reliable growth, maximum cost efficiency and a high degree of profitability."
