IDU Software extends focus into Australasia

Johannesburg, 19 Nov 2008

Cape Town-based business finance software specialist IDU Software has continued its extension into international industry sectors with the appointment of a distributor in New Zealand to cover the Australasian market.

IDU Software's international focus follows the successful deployment of the IDU-Concept suite of financial performance management applications across the full spectrum of industry sectors in southern Africa, and more recently the UK.

The software will also soon be seeing deployments in Europe through the company's newly formed business partner channel, IDU International.

Kevin Phillips, MD of IDU Software, says demand from potential value-added resellers and distributors abroad for channel partner opportunities has been an inevitable consequence of the success the IDU-Concept suite has had over the last decade.

Operating out of Wellington, Auckland and Palmerston North, Full Circle Business Solutions provides business applications, computer hardware, support and training to more than 240 medium-sized businesses in government, corporate and private across a range of industry sectors.

Mike Johnson, MD of Full Circle Business Solutions, says the company is proud to be able to add the IDU Software range to its product mix for the Australasian market.

“Processes required in an ever-changing business world ensure budgeting and forecasting is a critical function requiring efficiency that delivers prompt results for both line managers and business executives,” says Johnson.

“IDU-Concept delivers on the efficiency promise, making it an effective tool for financial management and planning processes. The product will mean that we can provide emphasis on business productivity tools for Australasian companies during what are likely to be turbulent business conditions over the next five or so years.”

Johnson says Full Circle's plan for the introduction of IDU-Concept will be a “slow and steady approach to businesses”, firstly throughout New Zealand and then, by association, to those clients' business associates in Australia.

“The prospects for IDU in Australasia are immense with many businesses having had to make do with substandard, time-consuming budgeting and forecasting tools. Many of these existing tools have been developed in-house due to a lack of viable, off-the-shelf alternatives, and require considerable management focus to keep formulas working and updated for each budget round.

“The Internet capability of IDU-Concept is particularly useful in the often diverse geographic locations in which Australasian businesses operate.

“Our challenge, and one we look forward to meeting, is to ensure businesses become aware that now there are tools available that provide this very important management function in a far more efficient and effective way,” says Johnson.
