iFactory is South Africa`s top Oracle independent software vendor

At the annual Oracle Partner Awards, ifactory, provider of web-based application solutions and products using the Oracle Internet platform, was awarded top Independent Software Vendor for 2003.

"Independent Software Vendors are of great importance and value to Oracle. By adopting Oracle technology and developing niche industry-specific solutions, our ISVs together with Oracle are in a position to offer more complete solutions to the marketplace," says Deon Els, Oracle Country Manager.

With its primary focus being on the government and parastatal market, ifactory continuously helps its client to leverage their investments in Oracle technology through the deployment of custom solutions, tools and packaged solutions or market offerings.

Says Tony Forbes, CEO of ifactory: "We are honoured to be recognised as the top Oracle ISV partner for 2003 and we attribute this to a mutually beneficial partnership with Oracle South Africa. Our commitment and investment in pro-active skills development, research and building Oracle-based solutions has brought us close to Oracle and its people. In turn, we have benefited from Oracle funding, training, technical and marketing support. This team approach has enabled us to win business together and create success stories for our clients, the Oracle technologies, the Oracle people and ifactory. I believe that this is great example of how true empowerment can work."

ifactory is also the first Oracle ISV Partner to successfully implement Oracle Collaboration Suite in South Africa. Says Forbes: "We sold OCS to the Gauteng Department of Housing. OCS is a key part of the Department`s blueprint for an integrated solution to drive operational support, business intelligence and customer service."

OCS leverages the Oracle relational database to offer a secure, reliable and scalable way of simplifying communications and consolidating information.

Nilesh Singh, Chief Information Officer of the Department of Housing, confirms: "Collaboration is helping the Department to improve the communication flow from the customer-facing officials to the line-functions officials in order to deliver a more consistent service to the public in line with the principles of Batho Pele."

Says Forbes: "We will continue to derive value by exploiting the Oracle technology stack. We are currently enhancing our products by developing add-on Oracle wireless functionality. Also, we are investing in building our Portal skills. In conclusion, Oracle technology is strategic to our long-term success."
