IFS in the UAE to deliver IFS Applications to telecommunications operator

IFS` UAE office has signed an agreement with a telecommunications provider in the Middle East. The value of the initial contract exceeds US$2.4 million, including licence fees of more than US$1 million. The consulting services on this project will be provided in the main by IFS South Africa.

The contract includes consulting services and licences related to IFS Applications components for financials, logistics and projects, and also includes an industry extension for retail point of sale. Delivery has commenced, and most of the project is expected to be implemented during 2006.

IFS prioritises the telecom and utilities segment and has more than 140 customers involved in the industry. IFS Applications supports planning and forecasting, improves efficiency and control in day-to-day operations and integrates project, asset and facilities management with contract management, workforce management, supply chain management and business intelligence.

Customers include telecom operators, network construction and maintenance providers and utilities such as Netcom (Norway), Chunghwa Telecom (Taiwan), Telsul (Brazil), PTK Centertel (Poland), Eltel Networks (Sweden) and MTN (Nigeria), the world`s largest hydropower plant, Three Gorges (P. R. China), nuclear power station s OKG (Sweden) and Qinshan (P. R. China), grid operators such as Svenska Kraftn"at (Sweden), Statnett (Norway), Federal Grid Company of Russia, TenneT (The Netherlands), and distributors such as Siemens Energy Services (New Zealand), Fortum (Sweden), and Hafslund Energi (Norway).

Asset and workforce management are critical processes in the telecom and utility industry, to which IFS has provided solutions for the past 18 years.
