The ISACA South Africa Chapter (ISACA SA) and Institute of Internal Auditors South Africa (IIA SA) have signed a reciprocal Alliance Agreement to partner in the continued development and practices of their respective profession and professionals in South Africa.
Incorporated in 1969, ISACA Global serves more than 150 000 professionals across 224 chapters globally who span several roles in assurance, governance, risk and information security. ISACA SA was formally established in South Africa in 2003 and serves more than 2 500 professionals across the country. The ISACA community is guided by a purpose of helping business technology professionals, and their enterprises around the world realise the positive potential of technology. The ISACA promise is to inspire confidence that enables innovation through technology.
The Institute of Internal Auditors is part of an international network representing the interests of internal auditors worldwide. As a part of this international network, the IIA SA upholds and supports the fundamental tenets of the internal audit profession through the Code of Ethics and the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing. The IIA SA supports the profession by providing a wide range of services dedicated to the education and advancement of internal auditors and dynamically promoting and developing the profession in South Africa.
Through the Strategic Alliance Agreement, the IIA SA and ISACA SA have renewed their partnership to reach out and add value to individuals and organisations where there are shared interests to provide the best possible resources and services; and extend networking and other opportunities for the members and professionals they serve. The two leading organisations proudly foster a spirit of sharing and inclusivity to realise the true potential, vision and ethos of the intersect between the technology and auditing professions in South Africa. Together, the organisations are also better equipped to respond to the emerging opportunities and challenges created through digital transformation and the fourth industrial revolution.
Moving forward, noteworthy opportunities for collaboration between the two organisations might include:
- Joint research to develop the auditing profession;
- Promoting each other’s brand as well as conferences, seminars and events; and
- Other initiatives activities that contribute to career pathways and professional development between IIA SA and ISACA SA certifications, designations and programmes.
