iiNet aims for SMEs
Western Australia-based ISP, iiNet, has introduced a reseller programme to assist its push into the small business market, says ARN.
iiNet previously focused on the consumer space, but has spent the past year building up a new division to target the SOHO and small business segment. Its focus is on companies with up to 50 staff.
The ISP has created a commission structure allowing partners to opt for either an upfront payment, or 10% trailing commission over 24 months.
Channel Expo on its way
As the industry prepares for Channel Expo, organiser Incisive Media is making a last call for registrations ahead of the event beginning this Wednesday, says PCRetail.
So far over 6 000 attendees have signed up to the show, which this year includes new features such as the CRN How to Sell Theatre, New Product World, Business Lounge and Credit Clinic.
Entatech will exhibit at the show, supported by vendors such as Corsair, Foxconn, Shuttle, Trust, Abit, Belkin and XFX.
FBI cracks down on partners
Channel partners selling counterfeit Cisco Systems networking equipment from China to the US government are at the centre of an operation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) that has uncovered $3.5 million in fake products, says ChannelWeb.
The FBI has uncovered a widespread distribution network of counterfeit Cisco Systems networking equipment originating in China.
It is concerned because some of this fake equipment - including Cisco routers, switches, Gigabit interface converters and WAN interface cards - could pose a security threat to the government agencies that have purchased it, according to an FBI presentation leaked on the Web.
