Two members of Information Industry SA (IISA) will accompany Trade and Industry Minister Alec Erwin and representatives from other sectors to the Partnership 2000 Summit in New Delhi.

Adrian Schofield, president of the Information Technology Association (ITA), and Zeth Malele, CEO of Ariel Technologies and former chairman of the Black Information Technology Forum, are invited.

They will join the IT sectoral forum and the Indian/SA sectoral co-operation bilateral meetings IT Working Group as well as representatives of other business sectors. The Partnership 2000 Summit includes a follow-up to the Strategy Workshop held between the two countries, which was hosted at the ITA Conference Centre in October 1999.

The four-day visit includes plenary sessions of the summit, meetings with potential investors and IT associations, and visits to leading IT companies.

IISA is an information and communication technology (ICT) umbrella body formed in October last year. It aims to overcome the general perception that the ICT industry is fragmented and to address issues of overflowing ICT-related programmes and projects.
