Mercury Interactive South Africa, a leader in Web performance management solutions, has signed an alliance partnership agreement with iLab Project Services, a company that provides software quality and testing, and project management services to a diverse group of companies in South Africa.
Stephen Owens, iLab`s managing director, says the agreement will see his company reselling Mercury Interactive`s applications, undertaking the training on these applications and assisting iLab`s clients with technical services.
iLab Project Services, one of three iLab Holdings companies with iLab Holdings 100% owned by EPI-USE Systems, is a software-testing house that provides end-to-end services in Johannesburg. Its competitive edge lies in the fact that it has an internal lab for offsite testing of customers` applications, including facilities for functional, performance and usability testing.
The agreement encompasses the entire range of Mercury Interactive products, but particularly focusing on TestDirector, Loadrunner and the Astra suite of products.
TestDirector 7i allows testers, developers and business analysts to participate in and contribute to the testing process using a Web-based product to collaborate across geographic and organisational boundaries.
Reliable Web sites that handle peak customer traffic without making customers wait for pages to load are necessary to ensure successful e-commerce.
Mercury Interactive`s Astra is a suite of tools that makes Web site testing fast and simple. Its integrated components, Astra LoadTest, Astra QuickTest validate Web site content, reliability and performance to accelerate testing and optimise user experience.
Loadrunner is a load testing solution from Mercury that represents the industry standard for load and stress testing, particularly within the rigors of the e-business environment.
"Mercury Interactive has the tools to conduct extensive software testing and will collaborate with iLab to provide certified product specialists and methodologies," Graeme Allcock, Mercury Interactive SA`s sales manager, explains.
Owens says he wanted to align his company with Mercury Interactive because "it has the best software testing products in South Africa, and for that matter globally as well. Incorporating Mercury`s suite of automated testing tools into our end-to-end testing service allows us to offer our clients a rigorous and comprehensive verification of their product`s capabilities prior to release into the global market."
"You just have to consider that the company was recently named as one of Fortune Magazine`s top companies that create the building blocks of a network to understand the significance of this deal for us," he explains.
Says Allcock: "Creating world-class solutions is easy when great partners work together. We work hand-in-hand with our partners to deliver long-term solutions designed to meet our joint customers` business needs and we believe our partnering with iLab will achieve just this."
