MICROS-Fidelio South Africa, a provider of information technology solutions to the hospitality industry, has formed a strategic alliance with iLanga Systems, the South African distributor of SunSystems financial and business management software and a company in the Business Unusual group. The partnership enables MICROS to offer SunSystems as an integrated part of the MICROS-Fidelio hotel product suite and will provide MICROS-Fidelio customers with a highly functional software solution that offers platform independence, a flexible structure and superior integration.
There are currently over 110 000 MICROS systems installed in restaurants, hotels, casinos and leisure and entertainment operations in more than 130 countries, while over 10 000 hotels worldwide use MICROS-Fidelio property management systems, central reservations and customer information solutions. Locally, hotels running MICROS systems include Sun International, Hyatt International, Sheraton and Hilton International.
"As part of our commitment to provide the hospitality industry with the most advanced and function-rich business solutions, SunSystems was a natural choice for its excellent back-office software," says Susan Gilliatt, MICROS-Fidelio SA director. "The product provides power and flexibility, and offers users top-of-the-line integration and migration capabilities. SunSystems will be integrated within our OPERA suite of hospitality management software, which will provide a strong global solution for hotel customers of all sizes and configurations."
OPERA enterprise solution is a fully integrated suite of products consisting of modules that can be easily added or expanded, allowing effective deployment in both smaller operations and global, multi-branded hotel chain environments. It can be deployed in any size environment, from a single property with just Front Office, to a large full service hotel with Sales and Marketing, Catering, Revenue Management, Quality Management, Back Office and Materials Management. OPERA also offers products for hotel chain corporate offices, including Central Reservations Systems, Enterprise Information System and a Customer Relationship Management package.
SunSystems powers OPERA Back Office and offers a fully integrated, flexible financial e-business solution. The system is designed as a packaged solution with a low total cost of ownership, and enables users to set up sophisticated financial, reporting and e-business systems quickly and easily. It includes an integrated ledger of all financial and reporting needs, including fixed asset register and full multi-currency support.
"Its powerful, multi-dimensional analysis capabilities, drill down reporting and push technology extend across all modules and deliver real-time management information to the whole organisation," adds Gilliatt.
