Imation has launched "Club i" to broaden its communication within its channel, and provide an online ordering and rewards scheme that will streamline the order management process for both the company and its resellers.
The company, which provides storage and document imaging products, claims to be the first multinational organisation to launch a fully administered Web-based channel loyalty programme in Africa and Latin America. Club i rewards Imation distributors, corporate and government buyers, retailers and authorised resellers in its regions with "i points".
Programme participants register online at the official Club i Web site at www.clubimation.com. Once registered, a personal account will automatically be activated. Thereafter, purchasing Imation products online through the account will ensure compensation with i points, which are automatically assigned to individual accounts whenever a distributor or reseller makes a purchase online.
After accumulating a sufficient amount of i points, participants can redeem prizes and rewards of their choice from a variety of options, all redeemable online.
In addition to improving relations with its channel and potentially increasing sales, the programme provides Imation with valuable information about distributors` and resellers` purchasing patterns.
"This programme is critical because it allows us to maintain consistent contact with an integral part of our business: our channels of distribution," says Mike Foster, national sales and marketing manager at Imation South Africa. "The programme also increases communication between Imation and our channels of distribution."
