Impi Linux has improved its partnership programme, creating the Mile High Club, which brings together previous offerings and formalises systems for partner interaction, the company says.
"The partnership programme has been initiated to introduce Ubuntu and Impi into the market and create a larger support base for organisations wishing to use Ubuntu or Impi," says Gary Fortuin, MD, Impi Linux.
Ubuntu, a free Debian-derived Linux-based operating system, co-founded by Mark Shuttleworth, joined forces with Impi Linux when Shuttleworth bought into Impi in September last year.
Since the first release of Impi Linux in September 2003, the company has been "extending and enhancing the programme to attract a wider, more diverse set of partners, many of whom have been asking for such a programme for some time," says Fortuin.
The aviation-themed Premier Class (customised solutions for large enterprise) and Business Class (desktop solutions for small business) product tiers, company leads, customisation services and issue tracking will be part of the offerings to partners, he says.
"Each partnership agreement is tailored to each organisation wishing to become a partner. In some cases it does involve training and re-tooling, but there are many small and medium enterprise (Linux) support providers which have remained below the radar that we wish to further empower," Fortuin says.
Impi Linux will include training and support packages as part of the Premier Class offering to partners, Fortuin says.
