IM's Campbell joins Tarsus, as Keschner takes on MB group responsibilities

Johannesburg, 04 Oct 2007

Tarsus Technologies has announced the appointment of Mark Campbell as its Lenovo and IBM general manager, following the move of Ron Keschner, who will be pursuing new initiatives for the MB Technologies group.

Campbell's appointment at Tarsus sees him departing the ranks of Ingram Micro South Africa, where, since the company's inception earlier this year, he had played the role of chief operating officer.

"Lenovo and IBM are two of the fastest growing business units in the Tarsus stable," he explains, "and I have been tasked with keeping that momentum going and increasing the pace wherever possible.

"It's undoubtedly going to be one of the most demanding, and by far, most rewarding roles I've undertaken at MB Technologies. I'm excited about the new challenges this position will present," he says.

While the compelling growth the brand enjoyed under Keschner's supervision was undoubtedly commendable, Campbell says he believes Lenovo's market share can definitely be grown even further, and considering the breadth of the Lenovo technology portfolio in China, that the brand still has a great number of offerings to bring to the South African market.

Campbell's appointment is effective as of 1 October 2007. Until Ingram Micro South Africa appoints a replacement, Campbell's duties will be taken care of by Peter Ibbotson, the company's current CEO.
