IMS intros portable patient kiosks
Atlanta-based International Medical Solutions has introduced portable patient kiosks for hospitals and physician practices, says Health Data Management.
Connected to an organisation's wireless network, the kiosks enable patients to register and update their medication histories, read and sign consent forms, and view educational videos.
The vendor also is testing a 'self-rooming' feature. Once registered, patients are notified of their exam room and provided with an on-screen digital map. Inside the room they can receive updates on the doctor's status and view an educational video while waiting.
CSG, Nanonation partner
CSG Systems has teamed with Nanonation to create a self-service bill-payment kiosk for cable service providers across the US, states Self-service & Kiosk Association.
The self-service kiosks enable cable customers to view their account and pay their bills with cash, credit card or cheque at a variety of public venues.
The project required the creation of an easy-to-use kiosk interface to allow cable customers to pay their bills, while leveraging CSG's existing transactional processing software and bill payment infrastructure currently being utilised by CSG cable provider clients.
King's College installs self-service kiosks
The King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is to install touch-screen, patient self-service kiosks supplied by NCR, reports eHealth Europe.
A total of 50 MediKiosks will initially be deployed this later this year in the London hospital's dermatology, haematology, orthopaedics, urology and general surgery clinics.
If successful, the roll-out will then extend to accident and emergency, radiology and other outpatient departments.
