Tony Fourie, managing director of the retail division of Incredible Connection has been awarded the prestigious Inprise/Borland Retailer of the Year award.
Presented to him by Manoli Rodokanakis, managing director of Inprise Borland Southern Africa, the premier manufacturer of programming tools and middleware. The award recognised "the excellent service rendered and for exceptional sales of Inprise/Borland`s range of development tools".
"Thanks to the large volumes of product moved by the group`s 17 stores nation-wide, they managed to keep prices low, making our development tools accessible to the thousands of software developers out there, from corporate teams to smaller professional developers and students" Rodokanakis said.
Inprise/Borland is the manufacturer of rapid application development (RAD) tools such as Delphi, JBuilder (Java), and CBuilder (C++) and VisiBroker the intelligent CORBA middleware which allows for rapid internet enablement of current applications.
Incredible Connection`s Fourie said the award delighted him and that it was proof that the group was succeeding in its aim to bring computer technology to the masses at affordable prices.
"Because of the very large volumes of product we move, we are able to negotiate the best possible prices with importers and distributors to the benefit of our client base.
"Providing value for money together with top class technical support and backup has always been our credo and this award is recognition of that," Fourie said.
