Independent research company ranks TIBCO a leader among business process management suite vendors

TIBCO Software, a business integration and process management software company that enables real-time business, has announced that Forrester Research has rated TIBCO among the top leaders in its recent evaluation of human-centric business process management suites (BPMS) vendors, The Forrester Wave: Human-Centric Business Process Management Suites, Q1 2006.

In The Forrester Wave report, TIBCO captured a leadership position and garnered the highest marks for strategy among all BPMS vendors by leveraging its major R&D assets and delivering an innovative product roadmap that the company began rolling out last fall. Other recent improvements - such as a new Eclipse development environment, increased support for business process modelling notation, and a new simulation capability - have also helped TIBCO `come roaring back` with a "highly competitive, richly featured product", according to Forrester.

"TIBCO, which offers a leading human-centric BPMS product as well as a leading integration-centric BPMS, is the first vendor to integrate and leverage these two types of capabilities, and points the way toward a converged BPMS market," writes Connie Moore in the Forrester Wave Vendor Summary, Q1 2006. "TIBCO`s long-term plans show both thought leadership and vision."

According to Forrester, the BPMS market is hot, with the worldwide market anticipated to grow at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of more than 20% between 2005 and 2009 to reach $2.7 billion. To analyse how human-centric BPMS vendors stack up, Forrester evaluated 12 vendors across 215 criteria, using a combination of 12 lab evaluations, product road map and strategy briefings, and two interviews with customers from each vendor to assess the strengths and weaknesses of each solution.

According to Forrester, TIBCO is not only a strong performer in the human-centric BPMS market, but also a leader in supporting system-intensive, straight-through processes that require significant integration. Owing to a major product refresh, Forrester reports that TIBCO Staffware Process Suite will be a dominant player in 2006-2007.
