Computer Associates International, Inc (CA) today announced that Ballarpur Industries Limited (BILT), India`s largest paper manufacturer, has adopted CA`s eTrust solutions to form the cornerstone of its Internet defense, protecting its IT infrastructure from security breaches as it moves towards an e-business model.
The company selected CA`s information security solutions to establish a secure environment in which BILT and its business partners can conduct e-business safely and cost-effectively.
Adopting the benefits of an e-business model constitutes a massive, $10 million technology investment for BILT. The implementation calls for over 1 700 desktops in more than eight locations to be networked via leased-lines. The new system will connect some 100 exclusive distributors and 600 suppliers to the extended enterprise. In addition, iBILT Technologies Limited (iBILT), the technology arm of BILT, plans to connect operations across 16 locations during the next 12 to 18 months.
Upon completion, this transition is expected to account for nearly 85% of business for BILT. For this e-business endeavour to be successful, BILT required security solutions that offer best-of-breed functionality, ease-of-use, tight integration and bullet-proof security.
