IndigoCube has exclusively partnered with DragonFire, a Canadian company owned by Janet Gregory, co-author with Lisa Crispin of the popular book Agile Testing - A Practical Guide for Testers and Agile Teams.
The partnership gives IndigoCube first-hand access to intellectual property and thought leadership relating to testing on Agile projects. This includes exclusive access to the training course developed by Gregory called "The whole team approach to Agile Testing".
"This is a hugely exciting development for us and for testing in South Africa generally. It's a great addition to IndigoCube's training offering," says Ziaan Hattingh, MD of IndigoCube.
"Janet Gregory is a true thought leader in Agile testing, and we are proud to be able to offer DragonFire's courses and intellectual property to the local market. Agile is a popular software development technique, so aligning testing technique with Agile has the potential to improve the quality of the software produced immeasurably."
Hattingh says the training to be offered by IndigoCube will help to position testers as valued members of the Agile development team thanks to their positive impact on the quality of the finished product.
The training will also explore ways to overcome common cultural and logistical obstacles in moving to an Agile environment. It is a course for all team members who wish to know how testing activities fit in to Agile projects.
The training will also describe the values and principles that underlie an Agile testing mindset.
"One of the most important elements of this new approach is the move to a short, iterative testing cycle, allowing testers to deliver continuous benefits in each iteration-and-release cycle," says Hattingh.
"This is a highly practical course, using interactive exercises and group discussions to help participants discover strategies for enhancing development with both executable and manual tests. It will also feature many real-life examples of how Agile testers add value, and emphasises important principles like Acceptance Test-Driven Development."
Gregory's course is accredited by IC Agile, an independent accreditation body. This means that it is integrated into a structured, comprehensive road map aimed at supporting individuals and enterprises on their journey towards sustainable agility.
The first training course, presented by Gregory, will run from 23 to 25 June at the IndigoCube offices in Johannesburg. Thereafter, IndigoCube's trainers will be ready to provide the training course on a regular basis in SA.
