IndigoCube, a company that focuses on improving the productivity and predictability of key business processes in large organisations, has secured the rights to provide B2T business analyst training in the United Arab Emirates, one of the Middle East's most important economic centres that includes Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras al Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm al Qaiwain.

US-based B2T Training specialises in training business analysts, and its executives have been involved in establishing the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA), as well as preparing the IIBA's body of knowledge. IndigoCube has had a partnership agreement with B2T Training since 2007, giving the company access to B2T's extensive and robust business analysis training material, which has been developed over several years and tested in many Fortune 500 companies.

"We have had a very successful strategic relationship with B2T Training," says Ziaan Hattingh, MD of IndigoCube. "As part of our range of advanced and specialised business analysis training courses, B2T programmes have been a significant training revenue generator. B2T is highly satisfied with the level of skills we offer and we have even had the opportunity to help the company design one of its advanced business analysis courses. Based on our local success, B2T Training was keen for us to take its courses into the banks, telcos, oil companies and other big organisations in the UAE."

Hattingh says that when IndigoCube decided it was time to expand its footprint beyond South Africa, looking to the Middle East made sense. "It's an attractive market for us because it is more mature than Africa in terms of the demand for business analysts, and it is also a lower-risk initiative."

Hattingh plans to get the B2T offering off the ground during the course of 2013. B2T Training offers comprehensive business analyst training and a business analyst certification programme, focusing on the roles and responsibilities of a business analyst, including all aspects of business requirements analysis. These include performing requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation.

"Business analysts serve as the liaison between business people and technology people," says Hattingh. "Successful business analysts facilitate a series of processes to accurately extract and relay the requirements of a business process to ensure that the technology team builds a software system that will effectively meet the needs of the business people. B2T's programme focuses on bridging the gap between business and technology by equipping business analysts with a thorough knowledge of the diverse and broad skills that are required to be effective."
