IndigoCube to host agile estimation and planning seminar in May

IndigoCube, the internationally certified consulting, training, software provider and Microsoft business partner, is holding a series of seminars on agile estimation and planning, starting 5 May.

The seminars will be held in conjunction with Microsoft in South Africa, and will be hosted at Microsoft's offices in Bryanston.

“We will be using Microsoft's Team Foundation Server to demonstrate how companies can incorporate planning and estimation into their agile programming projects,” says Ziaan Hattingh, MD of IndigoCube. “Jaco Viljoen is our principal consultant for agile software development and he will run the seminar. He's an industry veteran with enormously valuable expertise under his belt, and has consulted with international industry icon, Mike Cohn, on this precise topic.

“One of the first questions we are going to answer in these joint seminars with the team from Microsoft is the perceived lack of estimation and planning that goes hand-in-hand with agile software development,” says Viljoen. “Agile development is 10 years mature and there has been a lot of development in delivering techniques for thorough plans and estimates for reliable decision-making.”

Viljoen aims to deliver his message to development and project managers, programmers and testers at the event. Registration opens at 8:30am and proceedings run from 9am to 11am. Registration is free but seating is limited.

Attendees can RSVP via e-mail to Karen Colyn at Karen@indigocube.co.za or at (011) 759-5900. The event will be held at Microsoft Auditorium 2, Microsoft Bryanston Office, on William Nicol Drive, in Bryanston.

Microsoft's Team Foundation Server does source control, data collection, and project tracking and it's intended for use by teams in collaborative software development projects.
