Infinium boosts South African presence with signing of two new partners

By Global Research Partners
Johannesburg, 09 Jul 1999

Infinium Software has entered into partnerships with JBA and Integra to distribute its HR and financial software in South Africa. JBA South Africa will exclusively distribute Infinium`s HR and Payroll software for the IBMAS/400 platform, and local telecommunications software company, Integra Systems, will distribute Infinium`s financial solutions for the Windows NT platform.

The international version of Infinium`s HR solution on the AS/400 platform will augment JBA South Africa`s current offerings by adding functionality in local employment practices. The new software will provide modules for position management and applicant tracking through to comprehensive training and development modules, and is available with a powerful payroll option. Leading organisations in Southern Africa including the Government of Botswana, Nestle and Total already use the system.

"Adding Infinium solutions to our current applications offers our clients a more comprehensive and complimentary set of solutions to satisfy their business needs," said Bruckner de Villiers, Managing Director of JBA South Africa. "This agreement has the full support of our parent company in the UK, and responsibility locally will be in the hands of Alan Jewson, who has many years of experience in the HR field."

Infinium financials on the NT platform provide enterprise-wide financial management capabilities in real-time, which allows users to react immediately to key business indicators. "This fits with our solutions in the area of telephony and utility billing where we feature "hot billing", an online, real-time functionality, necessary to handle the pace of billing for fast moving service industries like the mobile phone industry," explained Jennifer Cherry, Managing Director of Integra Systems.

"These new partnerships will help strengthen our presence in Southern Africa and represent Infinium`s ongoing commitment to increasing its global network," commented Terry Joint, vice president of International Operations at Infinium Software. "By entering into partnerships with JBA and Integra we are consolidating our recent international growth as well as raising the profile of our regional operations."
