InfoBluePrint awarded Gold Partner status by Oracle

Johannesburg, 03 Nov 2011

Specialist data management services company InfoBluePrint has recently become an Oracle Gold Partner. This is on the back of Oracle's acquisition earlier this year of Datanomic, a leading provider of data quality management and watch-list screening software.

The Datanomic dn:Director product has been renamed Oracle Enterprise Data Quality (EDQ), while dn:Sentry is now called Oracle Watchlist Screening.

“EDQ is strategic to Oracle's overall data management strategy, and partners such as InfoBluePrint with skills in the data quality management space bring specialist knowledge and practical experience to the South African market,” says Bryn Davies, Managing Director of InfoBluePrint.

“InfoBluePrint has deployed large-scale, production-class Oracle EDQ implementations, supporting mission-critical data cleansing and quality management, for use across, for example, enterprise business intelligence and marketing initiatives,” he adds. With the growing focus in many organisations on tightening up the integrity of critical data assets, software products such as Oracle EDQ are becoming increasingly applicable, especially in the light of the coming Protection of Personal Information (POPI) Act.

“Coupled to this, we are seeing renewed interest in master data management (MDM) and 'single view' type initiatives,” says Davies, adding “it is therefore no surprise to see that Oracle is also ensuring integration of EDQ with its core data management products such as Oracle Data Integrator and Oracle Customer Hub.”

Taken together, all data management and migration initiatives rely on clean, accurate and complete data, and tools such as EDQ can help deliver this, especially when applied within a proven data quality management methodology such as that offered by InfoBluePrint. Once a solid platform for consistent data quality management has been established in an organisation, InfoBluePrint also ensures it is sustained by addressing the crucial people and process issues within a proper data governance programme.

InfoBluePrint has extensive experience with Oracle EDQ, gained over many years of data quality work and customer implementations in South Africa, and it was therefore natural to formalise the partnership with the product's new owner.
