Manufacturing software expert, Infor, a subsidiary of the German -based global ERP company of the same name, has implemented JSE-listed Ixchange`s AccountAbility in its South African offices and has been appointed an AccountAbility value-added reseller. AccountAbility forms part of the Ability suite of business management solutions aimed at the businesses operating in distribution, services and retail arenas.
Dr Jurgen Laakman, Infor`s MD, says Infor is especially strong in the manufacturing and distribution industry, as well as in CRM solutions, but it does not have a local financial software package to complement its specialised software. The company has been searching for a strong local partner with the same commitment to quality as Infor.
"Ixchange`s AccountAbility makes a good fit with Infor`s software," says Laakman. "Both companies are committed to making quality best-of-breed software targeted at specific customers." He adds that Ixchange and Infor have both had their products tried and tested in many customer installations, including the likes of Showerlux.
"The two companies complement each other," says Johan Buys, director of the Ability division of Ixchange. "The relationship works well for both of us as each company specialises in different industries, allowing us to add further value to our respective customer bases by offering to integrate the other`s software into our installations without conflicts arising."
Infor`s solution has already been integrated with AccountAbility due to the common platforms the products are built on, and has already been implemented successfully at a number of customer locations.
Both companies have developed their solutions on Microsoft platforms and have developed close relationships with Microsoft SA. The alliance between the companies will specifically target customers running SQL Server as their database of choice.
