Infor, a leading provider of business application software serving more than 70 000 customers, today announced that it has extended its partnership with solutions provider, ApplyIT, a subsidiary of JSE-listed Adapt IT Holdings.

The agreement will support Adapt IT's strategy to grow its business within the energy, mining and process manufacturing sectors with a broader scope of Infor solutions, including: Infor Supply Chain Management (SCM), Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Warehouse Management (WM) and Performance Management (PM) solutions.

Gavin Halse, managing director of ApplyIT, says the extended partnership will support Infor's growth and expansion plans, and is a natural progression for both companies. Halse says ApplyIT has been an Infor partner for the past seven years, and has established a solid business implementing SCM solutions.

“We initially partnered with Infor to sell and support its supply chain management solutions. We recognised that this is an area which addresses key challenges within manufacturing operations in several sectors, most especially the food and beverage sector. The proven industry solutions from Infor cover a wide range of challenges, from demand planning to production scheduling.” He says the extension of ApplyIT's contract will boost the Durban-based business, enabling them to provide EAM, PM, WM in addition to its already solid SCM business.

Halse says he sees immense opportunity for Infor's Enterprise Asset Management solutions. “We have a strong customer base in an asset intensive industry, which increasingly demands a better asset management solution. Infor provides these customers with a natural evolution and the ability to properly manage these assets.”

He says ApplyIT will drive the extended solutions into sub-Saharan Africa, with specific focus on South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, Uganda, Namibia, Nigeria Botswana, Mozambique, Malawi and Ghana. “The Adapt IT Group has a solid footing within Africa, with a sound remote support model in place, making our expansion into Africa a well supported one.”

“We are delighted to extend the partnership with ApplyIT, an established solutions provider with supply chain management experience. The growth of our network of channel partners remains a priority for Infor, and ApplyIT's past success, commitment and ambitious growth plans will enable Infor to broaden its customer base within Africa,” comments Mike Hibbert, Infor's director for sub-Saharan Africa. “We look forward to working shoulder-to-shoulder with ApplyIT to help further educate companies in the sub-Saharan Africa regions about the immense value Infor solutions can bring to their operations.”
