Information & Logistic Consultancy rebrands as Lerumo

Johannesburg, 15 Feb 2005

Since our inception in 1992, Information and Logistic Consultancy (Pty) Ltd has made the effort to re-invent itself so as to maintain the relevance of our offering to clients. As a medium-sized business consultancy, with footholds in both the government and commercial sectors, we have embraced the opportunity for BEE as legislated by the ICT charter.

During the course of 2004, Information and Logistic Consultancy moved aggressively to exceed the requirements of this charter so as to achieve genuine broad-based empowerment. Initially, Information and Logistic Consultancy went to market to identify potential partners with the industry experience to actively add value to our core business in the engineering and Information Technology fields.

As a result, a majority share in the company was sold to a consortium of businessmen including Dr Xolani Mkhwanazi, chief operating officer of BHP Billiton Aluminium, and Aubrey Malabie, an IT professional with more than 20 years` experience.

As part of this process, Information and Logistic Consultancy has rebranded itself as Lerumo, meaning "spear" in Sesotho. The spear is a traditional symbol of both defence and leadership in African culture and symbolises Lerumo`s objective to be a thought-leader in our key markets.

Our customers are now able to meet their own BEE procurement objectives while continuing to enjoy Lerumo`s proven capability to deliver business-driven projects on time and on budget.
