Information Builders unveils mobile
Business intelligence (BI) firm Information Builders has released a reporting tool for smartphones and tablets designed to expand analytics capabilities for users on the move, reports V3.
WebFocus Mobile BI runs on iPhone, Android and BlackBerry smartphones, and all tablets, according to the firm. "Our mobile business intelligence strategy is centred on providing users with the most functional and relevant options to meet their mobile device preference," says Gerald Cohen, CEO and president of IB Information Builders.
According to IT Wire, Information Builders claims this was particularly important for organisations which wanted to push out BI data where the location, device and browser of the recipient was not known.
Kevin Quinn, Information Builders VP of product marketing says the Information Builders Active Reports technology identifies what type of browsers and associated capabilities a particular device has in terms of being able to render BI data, says CTO Edge.
The WebFocus Mobile BI software then makes the appropriate adjustments to give IT organisations a simple way to deliver reports based on enterprise data without having to create a specific application for each type of mobile computing platform.
The WebFocus Mobile BI software works both online and offline on both Apple iPhone and iPad devices and Google Android platforms.
