Information Builders, a leader in business intelligence solutions for real-time information delivery over the Web, today announced that WebFOCUS for SAP has been certified on the SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW) OLAP BAPI interface.
WebFOCUS for SAP is a robust solution that empowers SAP customers to access and integrate essential business information in SAP BW, turn it into relevant and consistent information, and deliver it to users inside and outside the enterprise.
With WebFOCUS for SAP, users can easily analyse and report on SAP BW data and drill down to SAP R/3 software as well as other enterprise data. Essentially, WebFOCUS extends the SAP BW environment from client/server to a full, thin-client Internet environment, enabling easy to use self-service applications or in-depth OLAP analysis.
Through the OLAP BAPI interface, WebFOCUS for SAP now offers more flexible and scalable integration with SAP BW, which is a technical component of the mySAP( Business Intelligence e-business solution. As a result, query performance is faster and more efficient, and customers have the flexibility of operating in either a Unix or NT environment. This tightly integrated interface also provides support for SAP BW properties and variables, as well as multiple currencies.
WebFOCUS for SAP extends and enhances the standard content delivered within SAP BW by providing Web-based access to the SAP BW cube through a pure thin-client environment, and enabling rapid deployment of large-scale, self-service applications. Additionally, WebFOCUS for SAP empowers end-users to satisfy their own ad hoc reporting requirements, easing the development burden on IT staff by significantly reducing the need to build and administer custom cubes.
