Infosys to open China office

The Wall Street Journal reports.

The new facility, in the Dalian High-tech Zone (DHTZ), has the capacity to seat 700 employees, and will focus on delivering consulting, technology and business process outsourcing services to clients from the US, Europe, Japan and neighbouring regions, the China unit of India's Infosys said.

The Economic Times states that, as part of this partnership, Infosys Technologies (China) and DHTZ will jointly work towards fostering development and innovation in the Dalian high-tech industry, and in establishing the Dalian High-tech Park as an innovative world-class software development and outsourcing base.

This memorandum marks a milestone in Infosys' co-operation efforts with a provincial government in China, and will encourage collaboration in fields such as services, project co-operation, talent training and software outsourcing.

Rangarajan Vellamore, CEO of Infosys Technologies (China), said: “The comprehensive and in-depth co-operation between the Dalian High-tech Zone, government and Infosys will drive innovation and development, improving the IT services industry in Dalian,” and writes.

“This partnership is a reiteration of Infosys' commitment to invest in China, and will contribute to the overall growth of the company as we continue our efforts to provide high-quality service to our clients,” he adds.
