Ingram Micro South Africa has signed a distribution agreement with Kingston Technology Europe.
Kingston Technology is a manufacturer of memory products for notebooks, desktops and server computers, as well as flash memory for digital cameras, cellular phones and other consumer electronic devices.
By adding Kingston Technology to its list of brands, Peter Ibbotson, CEO of Ingram Micro SA, says the company will be able to "offer resellers a range of the world`s most reliable components, thereby allowing them to build `white box computers` that in many regards exceed the quality offered by international OEM brands.
"Kingston Technology selects distributors based on a strict set of criteria and, as such, the fact that Ingram Micro SA has secured these distribution rights on its first attempt, speaks volumes about its professionalism," he adds.
Laurent Sirgy, director of Southern Europe MEA at Kingston Technology Europe, says: "Ingram Micro plays an integral part of Kingston Technology`s strategy to extend its scope into the market. We believe our relationship with Ingram Micro will further entrench our brand in the channel."
Ibbotson says the market can anticipate the addition of even more brands. "We are convinced the local reseller community will be delighted when they find out exactly what we have planned," he concludes.
