Academic calls for relevant education
University of the South Pacific deputy vice-chancellor Dr Esther Williams says there's a need to align education strategies with the different professional needs of the market, reports Fiji Times.
Speaking at the 102nd Fiji Principals Association conference in Suva last week, Williams said many challenges faced the education sector and these were caused by local political, regional and global factors.
She said many fast growing jobs in Fiji's new economy would require post secondary education and qualification, especially those in computing, ICT, accounting and economics.
