Innovations in project management

Cape Town, 01 Nov 2016

The 9th - 11th November, sees the much anticipated PMSA conference, this year being held at the Wanderers Club, in Illovo, Johannesburg. The conference is open to members and non-members alike and will also host a number of sponsors and exhibitors on the Friday. This years' theme is "Harnessing the Power of Innovation" and Faculty Training Institute is pleased to share with you that Carol Mould, principal lecturer on its Project Management portfolio of courses, will be presenting a session entitled: "Introverts and Extroverts: the Creative Genius of Opposites".

Mould examines the characteristics of each personality style and how best to harness the potential of all the members of a team, accepting that disagreements or conflict, when managed well, can facilitate better outcomes. Identification of and acceptance of our differences within a team, will build empathy and understanding and opposites can, very often, create genius. Author and speaker Jennifer B Kahnweiler, PhD, known as the "champion for introverts," states that "Relationships are most successful when opposites stop focusing on differences."

Mould has a Masters Degree in Organisational Psychology and is an Industrial-Organisational Psychologist registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. Mould is also an experienced facilitator, trainer, consultant and coach with her main interests lying in career development, project management and change management. She has been lecturing in the project management field for about 15 years and she facilitates courses ranging from short introductory programmes (http://www.fti.co.za/pme), professional certification exam preparation courses (http://www.fti.co.za/pmipc), right through to full national qualifications (http://www.fti.co.za/PrPPM). She has a strong interest in the competency development of project managers, project management maturity development of organisations, increasing team effectiveness and motivation of teams and individuals. Carol's key strengths include being able to assess problems and opportunities at both an individual and organisational level and to facilitate the definition of pragmatic solutions that suit the context of the organisation and the people involved.
