A California-based firm demonstrating at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), in Las Vegas, says it can protect electronic devices exposed to liquids.
According to Liquipel, its self-titled process penetrates the entire device, providing optimal protection against accidental contact with liquids. Liquipel says it is the first company to offer this technology to consumers.
The company says it applies a waterproof coating to electronic devices, adding that the coating bonds on the molecular level, protecting devices even when they are dropped in water. According to Liquipel, the coating is virtually undetectable and will not compromise the look, feel or performance of the coated device. The company adds that the coating is permanent.
However, it does not offer any refunds on the Liquipel treatments. Moreover, Liquipel does not guarantee the coating will work perfectly, or that it will work under all conditions.
Should a defect be found in a treated device, and a consumer needs to return the device to the manufacturer, Liquipel will treat customers' new devices at no cost for 30 days.
