Innovative focus on breakaway sessions sets The PPPM Effect event apart

When it comes to getting to grips with organisational project management, there's nothing like a well-structured session with peers and experts. That's the thinking behind The PPPM (Process, Portfolio and Project Management) Effect event to be hosted by DVT, Eluminary and Snap-Tech in October. The event aims to give delegates the opportunity to hone their skills in and understanding of next-generation project and portfolio management by using their own companies as case studies.

Project management has become a key discipline for today's companies, which have to become ever-more agile in order to respond to dynamic market and customer needs.

"Project and portfolio management are hands-on disciplines, so we have structured The PPPM Effect accordingly," says Kevin Naicker, who heads up DVT's national project management business. "While the morning session will be devoted to a business breakfast and introductory keynotes, we will host structured breakaway sessions in the afternoon that will give delegates the opportunity to share successes and pain points - and come away enriched with new insights from their peers and subject matter experts."

The three breakaway sessions will focus on InSpec, Agile and Prince2, and will each admit a maximum of 15 delegates.

"Before the event, each delegate will complete a short assessment relating to the areas they wish to discuss, plus their top five successes and pain points. DVT has attracted well-known guest facilitators who will assist in preparing packs for the sessions based on the mini case studies; the aim is to ensure that delegates derive maximum benefit from a highly collaborative conversation with their peers as well as domain thought leaders," explains Naicker.

"We are aiming for delegates to have a collaborative experience that generates powerful insights they can take back to their teams," says Naicker. "Each delegate will receive a mini evaluation of their case study and a knowledge pack of insights containing white papers, research and news material relating to the topic."

The PPPM Effect will run on Wednesday, 24 October 2012, at the Sandton Sun, in Johannesburg, and on Friday, 26 October 2012, at Victoria Junction, in Cape Town. The breakaway sessions will be complemented by keynotes from Emeritus Professor Ken MacGregor, chief technology officer of Eluminary; Kevin Naicker; and Guy Eastoe, MD: Snap-Tech, an accredited APMG training provider.
