The pervasiveness of ICT has taken the world by storm, leading to human and organisational behavioural changes. Understanding, analysing and acting on this will play a critical role in business operations, according to Fujitsu.

In a new human-centric world that is characterised by cloud, mobile, big and social media, businesses need ICT that will deliver innovation and real business results. This is the aim of the Fujitsu Business-Centric Data Centre.

Fujitsu is the Fujitsu Business Centric Datacentre event on the 6th and 9th May in Johannesburg and Cape Town. Senior executives from Fujitsu Germany, Intel and Vodacom will discuss datacentre trends and solutions.

The old IT-centric approach to the centre meant focusing solely on technology by answering four simple questions:

* Which server class?
* What kind of storage?
* Which OS/hypervisor?
* Which brand?

But in a more demanding world, enterprises should be asking business centric questions instead:

* What is the business challenge?
* What application do we need to address such challenges?
* What is our deployment scenario?
* How can ICT be optimised?

Fujitsu believes that business requirements should determine the technologies you use, not the other way around.
